The Legacy for Children & Families, LLC

The Legacy for Children & Families, LLC was founded on the belief that every person deserves space and time to grow, with grace, through their healing process. Here, we provide counseling that allows you the room to express your authentic truths, without fear of judgment.

Being guided by our conviction to serve others and our own personal experiences [along with our training], we implement techniques and methods that are rooted in various approaches in therapy. These include, but are not limited to, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) techniques, mindfulness & meditation, yoga, trauma informed training and other approaches. These methods allow each individual to express themselves authentically while learning how to effectively manage their expressions and experiences.

The Legacy for Children & Families is committed to helping people cope with the change that accompanies difficult life experiences & we welcome the opportunity to support you in your journey.

A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER

Christasia Coleman

M. A., LPC-S, TA-C/S, CCTP

Hi there! My name is Christasia Coleman and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional-1 (CCTP), who is yoga trained. I am passionate about working with people who are grieving the loss of someone that they loved and/or navigating the challenges of trauma.

My heart is open and receptive to any person who is hurting and disappointed due to grief and/or trauma. In my experience, many people come to therapy feeling added stress and pressure due to various myths and misconceptions they hold about grief and trauma. These may be perceptions passed down through generations or introduced by others once the process has begun.

I help people to unravel these beliefs and replace them with more suitable and acceptable thoughts about their experience, helping them to feel more secure in their process which allows them space to heal and grow. Using techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness/meditation [to name a few], people get the opportunity to explore how their experience is impacting them mentally, emotionally, behaviorally and spiritually.

I am grateful to stand along side these strong individuals as they embark upon what can be an unforgiving journey through life.

It is my hope that they know how magnificent & capable they are of overcoming whatever obstacles may come their way.
